My Mind's Eye Hip & Luxurious Basics chip board book (Evangeline Redd)

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I last posted a blog, a picture, a card, a anything.  So much has been going on; however, I will not bore ya'll with the drama... I have been busy buying Tilda's, went to the convention (Great American Scrapbook Convention), did really well spent under $100.00.  I have done quite a few Tilda cards and a few Sarah Kay's but my latest project which has kept me quite busy, is my chipboard book.  I named it Evangeline Redd, because it reminds so much of old New Orleans and red is my favorite colour.  I am uploading pictures of my book, I am not quite finished with it; however, I need to break up the monotony by doing another project (like a quick Maggie card or Sarah Kay).  I don't know how but I have to find a way to get 2 (TWO) more pages into this book ( it came with 8 inserts and I've only put in 6 because the O rings are not large enough) and then I'll put the finishing touches on the back (ooh-wee wish me luck with that).   I used the "Hip & Luxurious Basics" by My Mind's Eye.

Front cover

This is the front cover of the book, I used prima flowers, WOC flowers, sprigs from JoAnn's, some rose buds from Michaels, a couple designer pins, inked the edges with Tim Holt's Fired Brick Red, and the binding ribbon is from my SU retired ribbon stash.

Okay ya'll I'm going to double up on the photos because they will take up a lot of room.  SU Ribbon stash; I think the color was Ridding Hood Red.  SU brought this colour back in the current line up; however the ribbon is not current (sorry).
Well, I thought I was going to double up; however, it won't work. So I will just add each one.  What a waste of space.

Okay, I figured it out; hott dogg; I'm on a roll!! The large flower was my first attempt at those Lollipop Roses or flowers, not bad for the first time but I need to keep practicing.

Everyone I am so sorry about the fingers, try to ignore them .  I just realized that I did not upright the photos (oh my).   The bird cage is T.H. (More My Mind's Eye paper-the sparkly one)  I used T.H. jump rings to attach the pearls (got the pearls from the local craft store (Crafty Scrapper in Waxahachie, TX) http://www.thecraftyscrapper.com/ This is a awesome store Carolyn, has a large selection of specialty items you can't find at the big 3 (Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's and Michaels).

The rose are the bottom on the top picture.  I searched far and wide but I could not find a pearled circle.  So, yes...I used a nesti drew a circle and placed each pearl individually.   The plain red CS is from my stash.

In the above (damask) page, I used some sticker flowers I got from the dollar store, some Michaels flowers and pearls.  The cream paper is SU Very Vanilla (still current).    The last photo is a double pocket, I used nesties to cut the pockets out, the printed paper is  DCWV, the stripped paper is a part of the MME Hip & Lux.... the pearl swirl is from the Crafty Scrapper.    Again forgive my fingers.   As you can see on the binding I'm not finish with covering and I still need to do the back cover of the book. I'm thinking those other to page inserts might not make it.  I'm going to try because I've spent all that time modge podging, sanding and inking them. One page I didn't show because It was too blurry, I'll re-take that photo and post it when I post the back of the book.   Lawdy, I'm tired now, I'm off to bed, it is dark-thirty here in Texas and 4am comes mighty fast in these parts.
On this page I used a SU exclusive pedal card die (still a current item), the ribbon is seem binding from SU, I believe the color is cherry cobbler.  The  CS from My Mind's Eye also came in green and brown colors.  I haven't seen it around since I bought these few pieces (last year); you could probably find it on line somewhere.  The key is from JoAnn's.
