Heartfelt Creations Delicate Asters

Yeaaaaaaa! It's the end of the week and I'm living for the weekend!  The only thing I plan to do this weekend is sleep and make cards!!!!!! (at least 2).  Well, that's my hope anyway.  But for now I'll just share what I've been working on.  This project started out as just playing around with the Delicate Asters die and stamp set from Heartfelt Creations and morphed into a completed project.  There are a couple of versions of the card on their website, so I tried to change mine up a bit.  I was thinking of either putting it in an 8x8 frame or making it a door hanger.  Not really sure what I'm going to do with it, so for now I'll just leave it as it is.  It was pretty time intensive but looking at it now, it was worth it.  The supplies used: SB Decorative Grand Ovals, SB Classic Grand Ovals, Marianne Creatables Cross, HFC Delicate Asters die set, HFC Decorative Chateau Gate (branches only), HFC Delicate Asters stamp set, SU background stamp En Francais, Barbara Trombley's Elements (center of Asters) "Meadows", White CS-Michaels, Patterned and coloured CS-Color Box (very old like 2009 or 2010) there was no name- on the lable it reads 12x12 paper pack 48768 (good luck with that).  The gold CS is from Michael's (open stock). The leaves were cut out of CS from Kay & Co. paper pack called Blue Awning (code: 625358, another oldie but goodie).  I inked some of the leaves and flowers with Tim Holtz Distress Ink -Vintage Photo and I stamped the background stamp with Tim Holtz Distress Ink- Milled Lavender. I popped the main oval up with pop dots and then popped the cross up with foam tape.   I was a little busy with this one!   Here are a couple pics and thanks for stopping by.

Becca's Box

Good Monday Morning Everyone,
Ready to start another week!  What better way to start than with a cute little box.  This little box is courtesy of Becca from Amazing Paper Grace.  She give a complete tutorial on how to construct the box and the darling little note cards that fit inside.  I did not make the notes cards yet but you know I'm going to.   I used Hobby Lobby cream CS, some pink cream marbled CS (unknown source), the little bird is a SU punch and the paper is from their new DS paper; I think it's called Sunshine and Sparkles.  The ribbon on the pink box is SU Taffeta (retired) and the cream ribbon on the Filigree box is also SU,  3/8" satin Very Vanilla (sorry, this is also retired).  Tip: I did see an assortment of different colours 3/8" satin ribbon at JoAnn's and Wal-Mart.  The embossing folder is from SB 5X7 "Tweets & Twigs".  The Filigree Die is SB Enchanted Labels 28.  The textured paper on the filigree box is called cayenne (it was left over from my stash).  Well, thanks for the visit and come back soon.

G45 A Proper Gentleman Tri Fold Card

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share a quick little card.  I hadn't made a tri-fold in a while and I don't think I ever made a G45 card before ( I love the paper so much, I can't make myself cut it).  Well I have continued to amass lots of pretty G45 papers- I got them from Tuesday Morning.  Unfortunately, you get like 25 double sided sheets of the same page; but you don't have to worry about messing up-you got plenty of back ups (lol).   Supplies: The majority of the paper is from the " A Proper Gentleman" Collection.  I think the stripped paper is from the "Le Cirque" collection.  Cream CS-Hobby Lobby
I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink- Vintage Photo (another favorite).  This is a cute little male card- great for father's day, birthday, senior, undergrad, or graduate degree graduation, congratulations...all kinds of male occasions.  Thanks for stopping by...

Spellbinders Gold Elements Card

Happy Summer everyone!  Well, it's officially here...Summer; bringing a renewed spirit to make cards.  Family, friends, and fun for all (I hope).   I don't know what's gotten into me but I'm really enjoying posting every 2-3 days.    Previously, I mentioned that I was working on a another Debbie Stevens inspired card.  I absolutely love, love, love the SB Gold Elements (corners).  It was a little tricky figuring out how to get the cut on the paper.  I kept cutting out the entire shape as a single corner (urrrrrrh)!  Let me also just say, Debbie  must use a lot of paper for these cards; but they are amazing! so it's worth it.  Other supplies I used: of course Recollections (Michael's brand) white CS, Hobby Lobby cream CS, the purple-grey CS is from my stash (very old, so old it was faded around the edges).  The flowers are from my favorite place Wild Orchid Crafts .  The leaves are made with a Quick Kutz leaf die (not sure but I think this might be discontinued).  The green for the leaves came from one of those DCVW strip pack ( I think they are 2 x 12" strips of CS). I popped the main panel up with foam tape.   Gosh, if you have not visited Debbie's blog; I encourage you to do so-you will not be disappointed (maybe a little broke because you are going to want all the dies and embossing folders she used).   Here are a couple pictures of my finished card.

Although I did not, you could make the corners into pockets.  This would be a great idea for a wedding invite.

Happy Birthday Shannon

Good Morning folks,
Today, I am sharing a really cute and super, super easy and quick project.  I got the idea from Mema; who got the idea from watching a You Tube video.  If you go to You Tube and put in Envelope Card it should come up for you.  I try to make a unique card for each of my co-worker teammates for their birthdays.  Well, it is my good buddy Shannon's birthday month.  Happy B-Day mon ami!!!  She is an amazing individual, who will keep you smiling even when you feel like crying.  With that being said, her card had to be just as amazing and the envelope card is just that! To decorate the card, I used some Prima double sided paper from the 2011 Sparkling Spring Collection, the little green trim and the seam binding are from the local craft store the Crafty Scrapper, the leaves are Quick Kutz, the flowers are WOC, the tri-cycle die is Memory Box, the stamp set is SU called Bring on the Cake ( I think this one is still available).  The journaling insert border was made with a Cherry Lynn die ( I think it is the Anastasia Border). I left both the flaps apart to create the double pocket look with closures.  On the other side I put a gift card and made a velcro closure (tiny clear velcro closure from Wal-Mart).  On the back I fired up the Cricut and used the Storybook cart to make an "S".  All the paper is from my stash (the burgundy, white, and the light blue).  I hope you give it try, you're gonna love it!   Thanks for stopping by.

One side is the journaling insert

The other side is the gift card

Spellbinder's Enchanted Labels 28

OMGosh!  This my first card with my SB Enchanted Labels 28 die templates!!!   Lovin' it!    I also used SU Pretty in Pink classic die (unfortunately this colour retired this year).  I used Labels 28, SB embossing template Venetian, the rose is a random picture from the net, the "Always" I printed on my computer, and the quote by Thomas Merton (which is my favorite ) was inspired by an episode of Criminal Minds. To make the card, I used a tutorial on Creative Expressions .  It took me a minute but I figured it out (as I shall never be defeated by paper). Well, here's a few pictures; I hope you'll give it a try.

Spellbinders A2 Filigree

Hello my bloggy friends,
Today, I'd like to share a card I did at Mema's.  We used her new Spellbinder's A2 Filigree die to make this beautiful card. This card was originally done by Becca from Amazing Paper Grace.  I changed up a couple things and I still need to do a little more to the inside I think. Not sure what kind of card I want this to be.  It could be a sympathy card, a wedding card, a christening card, or birthday, hmmm the possibilities seem almost endless.   The other supplies used: Paper from Michael's and JoAnn, and ribbon from SU.  Thanks for dropping by and have a great day!

Happy Father's Day

Hey everyone,
Wow, can you believe it's the middle of June already!?  All I can say is thank you God for holding us up as you do!   I've been on the white card kick lately and yes, I am working on another one.  I thought since Father's Day is fast approaching  (Sunday June 16th), I would share a quick little card I created.  I used Capt. Locke a Kenny K pre-coloured digi image (see I told you it was a quick card).  The CS is SU (So Saffron) one of my favorite colours and Basic Black (base card), the white CS is Michael's, and the greenish-grey coloured CS is from my stash.  The ribbon I got from our local craft store Crafty Scrapper , the ship and compass are from a SU set called "The Open Sea" # 123032; not sure if this one is retired yet. The greeting and sentiment are printed from Word.  You can also see this card over at Memas Crafts for her June challenge as an inspiration card.  Well, be sure to be good to all those father's out there and remember those who have since left us.   Thanks for stopping by.
